He is married to Toni and they have 3 daughters Chloe, Riley and Olivia and one son Brody. They share their home with Rain the greyhound, Bunny the pug and Loosefur, Mouse and Moonlight the cats.
He took over the Aldergrove Animal Hospital in 1997 which is dedicated to family pet care. He has a special interest in canine sports and rehabilitation medicine with a focus on coursing and racing sight hounds. He is proud to have the first veterinary hospital in Canada to have an underwater treadmill and therapy pool. He is a member of the American Canine Sports Medicine Association. He targets his continuing education towards sports medicine and rehabilitation and networks with experts in these fields all over the world. He is certified through the University of Tennessee as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner.
Tiffany Ferguson started with us as a teenaged kennel attendant and has worked her way up to being our primary swim therapist in the SPAW. She is currently enrolled in a 3 year Veterinary Technician Program that allows her to balance part time school and full time work. Her involvement in organizing a canine 4H club and dog training have helped to make her an excellent animal handler and swim therapist.
Lisiane Jesson started working as a Veterinary Technician at the Aldergrove Animal Hospital in October 2006. She is originally from Brazil where she graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1991. Lisiane practiced veterinary medicine for 13 years in Brazil before moving to Canada to marry her beloved husband Karl.
In addition to Veterinary technician duties, Lisiane is working as a Rehabilitation Therapist and is very proud to be a member of the Spaw team. Currently enrolled in the Canine Rehabilitation Therapy Program, Lisiane expects to complete this program by the end of 2007. As Lisiane is not a licensed Veterinarian in Canada, she is very excited about this new career opportunity working with Canine Rehabilitation. Melissa joined us in May of 2008.
Upon graduating with honors from her Secondary education, Melissa moved to Kamloops to successfully complete her Animal Health Technology training from Thompson Rivers University in 2005.
After moving back closer to her family, Melissa began her career as a Registered AHT in the Lower Mainland. She discovered her passion for animal rehabilitation while working with a Human Physical Therapist who also treated animals.
Having completed her certification at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida, Melissa has become a very valuable and skilled member of our Spaw team.
When Melissa is not dedicating her time between her rehabilitation & technician duties, she enjoys relaxing with her 2 handsome rescue cats Reese & Riley, hoping to one day expand her family to include a French bulldog.
